Hands down this has to be the funnest car to drive, 510 HP V8 Supercharged and Jaguar being the awesome company they are, this was my loaner vehicle while my car was getting serviced. The traction control on these cars is amazing, the second the wheels start to loose grip the traction control kicks in, which comes in handy with these rear wheel drive vehicles. Hopefully Jaguar will bring back the base V8 model in 2014 into the XF series, having this as your daily driver will definitely get you in trouble.

Yes it’s true, Novell has modularized their boot process into individual files under /etc however Redhat 5 currently handles this in a linear process. Ok thanks now I feel smarter, but how does this affect me? Here’s the deal, third party vendors that need to be leveraged, have to insert their code into the boot process so their modules are loaded and their product is functional. On a typical Sles machine these files will be inserted into the boot.d structure; however on a Redhat system the code will be injected into rc.sysinit.
Now we get to the core, on Redhat machine who owns the /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file, yes you are correct, it is from initscripts. And this is important because? Well this is a rpm package that can and will be updated via content, therefore overriding any content that was previously stored. And then the multipath is broken …
Have no fear however, the solution is a quick fix. By restarting Powerpath (/etc/init.d/PowerPath start), it will re-inject itself into sysinit, which will provide the mechanism to survive a reboot and allow the modules to be loaded at default and re-enable your file systems depending upon the emc pseudo devices.

It is unfortunate that within the United States the speed limit laws will limit you from experiencing the full potential of the vehicles. The way these vehicles are geared, you will be able to hit 90 MPH in 3rd gear easily; whereas with the conventional automobiles if you do this, you will most likely blow up your engine because you exceeded the engine RPM capabilities or your tires may not be rated correctly to handle the speed. Some vehicles like volkswagon or porsche had done designs like this, the Fiskar has a similar design but they actually fill up both the trunk and the hood to cram all their technology, then the Tesla has design elements that change this. The other awesome design, and those of you who have ever played Need For Speed will create the correlation, having a conventional shifter in a vehicle is a waste of space, waste of resource and complicates the matter. Paddle shifters? Yep those were in the high end whips but now this functionality is coming to the every day car, if you want to drive your car like a race car you can with the paddle shifters, there are options to apply that will accomodate your needs. But just because you can drive it like a race car doesn’t mean that is what you should do, these vehicles have a lot of power and need to be driven in safe situations (ie sometimes booking a spot at the Race Track, switching out the tires, and mapping out the apex and pushing the vehicle to the limits). The technology features that are now being introduced allow you to partner with the technology to meet your requirements. How annoying is it to turn on your windshield wipers, then have to modify it to go from slow to medium to fast, etc as the rain picks up? Auto sensing windshield wipers will cover this, just make sure to turn off the feature before going into a car wash. =)
